Bristol Academy South is seeking an exceptional leader to join our Senior Leadership Team as Assistant Headteacher - Behaviour. This is an exciting opportunity to shape academy culture, lead behaviour, attendance and inclusion strategies, and create an environment where every pupil can learn, thrive and achieve their full potential.

As a strategic leader, you will drive the development and implementation of behaviour systems that promote high standards, positive relationships and excellent outcomes for all pupils. Working collaboratively with staff, pupils, families and external agencies, you will lead behaviour improvement initiatives, strengthen attendance and engagement, and ensure a consistent and inclusive approach across the academy.

We are looking for an inspirational and ambitious educator with a successful leadership track record, a passion for inclusion, and the ability to motivate and develop others. You will be committed to continuous improvement and dedicated to ensuring every pupil has the opportunity to succeed.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership for behaviour, conduct and academy culture, ensuring high expectations and positive outcomes for all pupils.
  • Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of behaviour systems, policies and improvement strategies across the academy.
  • Oversee attendance, inclusion and pupil engagement, working with pastoral teams and external agencies to improve outcomes.
  • Lead and support Heads of Year, Pastoral Leaders and associated teams, ensuring effective and consistent pastoral systems.
  • Deliver staff training, coaching and professional development to strengthen behaviour management, inclusion and classroom practice

Pay range: L10 - L14 - £66,956.00 - £73,827.00

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Successful teaching experience with a proven track record of improving pupil outcomes.
  • Experience of leadership and management within a school setting, including behaviour, pastoral or inclusion initiatives.
  • Outstanding leadership, communication and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate colleagues.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management, safeguarding, attendance and inclusion strategies, with the ability to analyse data and drive improvement
