What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for a school leader who will:

  • Lead the vision, strategic direction, and development of Early Years
  • Ensure that the curriculum reflects the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework ensuring it is ambitious, inclusive, and meets the needs of all learners.
  • Oversee Early Years assessment practices to ensure accuracy, consistency, and effective use of formative/ summative information to support children to make good progress.
  • Promote inclusive practice that enables all children to thrive, including EAL, disadvantaged pupils and those with SEND.
  • Lead early reading and phonics development across the school
  • Lead training sessions and contribute to whole‑school CPD.
  • Provide strategic whole school leadership, contributing effectively to the school’s vision and improvement priorities.
  • Contribute fully to the strategic leadership and operational management of the whole school, demonstrating initiative an da commitment to excellence.

  • Has a sound understanding of Safeguarding procedures and the role of the DSL in school
