Assistant Headteacher job summary

Required for September 2025, an Assistant Headteacher to play a key role in the leadership of the school. They will have responsibility for the standards in a Key Stage, supporting excellent attendance, impeccable behaviour and fantastic attitudes to learning as well as ensuring outstanding pastoral care and support. They will be responsible for safeguarding ensuring that the practices are effective and that work is ongoing to ensure there is a whole school approach that challenges all staff to act in accordance with safer working practices at all times. Additionally, they will work with academic and pastoral leaders to develop the curriculum, pedagogical practices and contribute to student voice and leadership. The successful applicant will have excellent leadership and interpersonal skills and, together with the members of the Senior Leadership Team, maintain a relentless focus on teaching and learning, pastoral support and raising achievement.
