Assistant Headteacher job summary
We are looking to recruit a passionate and ambitious Assistant Headteacher who will embrace the vision and support of the trust, working at Djanogly Northgate Academy. This opportunity provides the chance to step into a leadership role with a focus on teaching & learning, data, pedagogy, and attendance—all without a class responsibility. This opportunity is initially available on a fixed term contract until 25 July 2025.
This role is designed to provide valuable experience in key leadership areas, including:
- Supporting the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) in curriculum development
- Leading on visible behaviour across the school
- Engaging with academy systems, including data and attendance
- Ideally, having some familiarity with the trust’s reading curriculum (Y2–6) (though this is not essential)
- Safeguarding responsibilities (DDSL training would be beneficial, but CPD can be provided)
