Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion (Maternity Cover) job summary

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic and ambitious teacher and leader who is an effective team player and committed to securing excellence for all pupils. As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will actively champion and uphold the school’s vision and values, contributing to continuous improvement and the best possible outcomes for every student. You would contribute to the strategic direction of the school, having the opportunity to make a considerable impact on the future lives of our pupils. This is a senior leadership role with a strong focus on inclusion, SEND, safeguarding, and whole-school improvement. The successful candidate would be expected to operate both strategically and operationally across the federation. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the school’s strategic leadership through the effective oversight of inclusion, including line management and staff development. Central to the role is driving improved outcomes for vulnerable learners. The role involves a small teaching commitment.

The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational leadership for: 

  • Whole-school inclusion

  • Pupil Premium

  • EAL

  • Induction Tutor

  • Interventions linked to inclusion e.g. nurture / EAL
