Experience:

Applicant should have experience of:
- teaching at a high level
- developing other professionals
- leading and improving a subject area, key area of responsibility or phase
Knowledge & understanding:
The
Applicant should have knowledge and understanding of:
- the national curriculum
- the theory and practice of providing for the individual needs of all children (e.g. classroom organisation and learning strategies);
- the monitoring, assessment, recording and reporting of pupils’ progress;
- the statutory requirements of legislation concerning Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety, SEN and Child Protection;
- effective teaching strategies.
Skills:
The
Applicant will be able to:
- promote the school’s aims positively, and use effective strategies to monitor motivation and morale;
- develop good personal relationships within a team;
- establish and develop close relationships with parents, governors and the community;
- communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) to a variety of audiences;

Flexible working opportunities
We are looking for a full-time Assistant Headteacher (with some teaching commitment) or a Part-time (3-5 days) Assistant Headteacher with less or no teaching commitment.
