Due to recent growth of Hazel Oak School, we are seeking to appoint an additional Assistant Head Teacher, to join our dynamic and experienced leadership team. This exciting new role will expand the senior team alongside the current Head Teacher, Deputy Head Teachers and Assistant Head Teacher.

Hazel Oak supports a broad range of pupils with learning difficulties which include Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome, social, emotional and mental health challenges, speech, language and communication difficulties, plus more complex and medical needs. Communication, wellbeing, life skills, the functional use of core skills and alternative, augmentative communication skills are central to our curriculum, which brings real life experience into learning to achieve belonging for all.
The successful applicant will have substantial leadership experience in middle or senior roles within schools, managing teams of people effectively, and supporting staff to deliver high quality curriculum content and outcomes through high expectations.
As an inspiring and creative teacher, you will be able to deliver an adapted national curriculum to meet the diverse needs of our learners, developing staff pedagogy through collaborative team working, creating inspired experiences and rich cultural capital for all. The primary teaching model works across key stages 1 to 3 and the same collaborative approach is applied to accreditation teaching and learning in key stages 4 and 5, with opportunities for staff to teach across the different phases.
You will take a leading role in driving the school’s development through training, appraisal, coaching, peer and wellbeing support. You will also have a commitment to trauma informed, restorative practice, championing individual pupil needs, modelling high expectations to staff and pupils.
