What skills and experience we're looking for

Responsibility for all aspects of post-16 education, including: admissions; marketing; enrolment; academic monitoring; conduct; pastoral care and future pathways guidance. Our academic success is well-established with the vast majority of students progressing to university with a number gaining Oxbridge or medicine places each year. The successful candidate will have a demonstrable track record of success, be able to challenge and motivate students, have excellent communication skills and possess strong leadership qualities. As a member of SLT, they will also contribute to the effective running of the whole school.

What the school offers its staff

In 2024, we will re-locate to a brand new ‘state of the art’ school on a new site less than half a mile from our current location. This exciting project will provide us with a fantastic new learning environment and sixth-from centre.

Main Areas of Responsibility: Lead on all matters relating to the Sixth Form including:

  • Vision, ethos and direction of the Sixth Form

  • Line Management: x2 Deputy Heads of Sixth Form (DHSF); Assistant Head of Sixth Form (non-teaching) (AHSF); Sixth Form Administrator (SFA)

  • Oversight of Sixth Form student achievement, welfare and conduct

  • Oversight of the use of ALPS

  • Oversight of Post-18 Progression

  • Standards of KS5 teaching and learning

  • Sixth Form Curriculum offer (alongside DHT)

  • Post-16 guidance and admission into Sixth Form
