At Orchard Park High School, we are looking for a dedicated Assistant Headteacher to join our leadership team and contribute to the continued success of our school community.

In this influential role, you will work closely with colleagues to develop teaching and learning, raise standards and create an environment where pupils and staff are supported to achieve their full potential.

About the Role

As an Assistant Headteacher (Inclusion), you will be an important part of the Senior Leadership Team. You will be expected to lead the school, setting exceptionally high standards for staff and students, and ensure they are met. You will be expected to contribute widely to all areas of the school. You will need to be positive, optimistic and committed with a strong belief that all pupils are capable of excellent conduct and outcomes, and have a track record of success.

The role will develop your capacity and knowledge, utilising your skills and understanding of our context whilst providing you with support and guidance to be the very best leader.

Key aspects of the role include:

    • To work with colleagues to set ambitious targets for raising achievement among pupils with SEN
    • To ensure robust tracking systems are in place to collect and interpret specific pupil
    • To develop understanding of learning needs amongst staff and the importance of raising achievement among pupils
    • To effectively write EHCP requests for those students who are identified as requiring high needs support and funding.
    • To attend Annual Review meetings, parent evening consultations keeping parents informed about their child’s progress
    • To ensure that the support in place is necessary, evidence based, rooted in research and promotes independence
    • To support the maintenance of an up to date SEN register of students identified as having special and additional educational needs
    • To offer advice, guidance and support to staff with regards to understanding the needs of
    • SEND students and how to work most effectively with SEN students

        We're Looking For Someone Who:

        • Good Honours Degree/Post Graduate Qualification
        • Relevant postgraduate studies.
        • Management and experience of curriculum innovation
        • NASENCO Qualification
