What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and highly motivated Assistant Headteacher. The successful candidate will have an excellent track record as a highly effective practitioner and leader, demonstrating the leadership and operational skills needed to support all staff in providing an exceptional education for all of our students.

This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with vision and ambition who is keen to work in a large, high-performing comprehensive school. The successful candidate will join a strong, stable leadership team.

The specific role of the successful applicant will be developed around their skills, experience and priorities for the school alongside the skills of the other members of the Senior Leadership Team.

The job description provides an indication of the breadth of the role over time at Assistant Headteacher level.

Applicants should have successful, relevant, recent experience of middle or senior leadership and be able to demonstrate the impact of their leadership. Applicants should have the drive to ensure that all our students and staff challenge themselves to reach their full potential. The school is well-regarded within the community and has a reputation for high quality teaching; we have recently expanded and now have 250 students in each Year 7 cohort. Lichfield is a small, vibrant cathedral city which is easily accessible from the surrounding areas.
