What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking to appoint an Assistant SENCO to support our Director of SEND, and deputise for them when required.The role will involve :

  • working with the Director of SEND to implement inclusive practices within the curriculum, and ensuring robust interventions are in place to support the pupils on all sites.
  • Setting targets based on current attainment and monitoring the day to day implementation of practices.
  • Under the direction of the Director of SEND engage in liaison meetings with appropriate outside agencies to facilitate working with pupils.
  • Under the direction of the Director of SEND plan and deliver suitable programmes of work and in-class support strategies for pupils.
  • Support the Director of SEND to review IEP targets
  • Support the Director of SEND with annual review process

While an existing SENCO qualification is not required for this post, it would be advantageous. You should be prepared to undertake this qualification if you not already have it.
