A vacancy has arisen for an Assistant SENDCo (Autism and EHCP responsibility) within our amazing SEND team. You must be a team player and committed to all four broad areas of special educational needs and disabilities.
This is a very exciting time to join Waseley Hills. Following our very recent OFSTED visit (February 2025) we are eagerly awaiting the published report that will be very pleasing and provides a wonderful opportunity to join Waseley. We also have a multi-million pound Department for Education project to rebuild the school well underway with the SEND department moving into a brand new state of the art facility in September 2025.
The purpose of the role is to work as a member of the Waseley Hills High School SEND team under the direction and supervision of the SENDCo, help with leading the provision for Autistic students and for those with an EHCP at Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 to ensure the best possible outcomes for SEND students. You will undertake ‘specified work’ and provide care and supervision to students using detailed SEND knowledge and specialist skills as well as support and co-ordinate the personalised learning and development for students.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
Applications should be submitted by 8.00am on 24th February with interviews expected the following week.
All support staff are subject to the Conditions of Employment set out in their contract of employment and the National Joint Council for Local Government Services (The Green Book) Document. The Trust and its schools comply with these requirements as a minimum but optionally offer an incredible wellbeing package including flexible working hours, 3 days term-time holiday, free tea and coffee facilities, free eye tests, flu jabs, cycle scheme and an employee assistance programme that offers a wide range of free support from emotional to financial and legal.
