Assistant Site Agent job summary

The Meads Primary School is seeking to appoint a highly-motivated and dedicated Assistant Site Agent who will play a vital role in maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and functionality of our school premises. The successful candidate will work closely with the Business Manager and the Site Agent to ensure the smooth operation of the school site on a day-to-day basis.

You will demonstrate excellent team work, organisation and attention to detail and will need to have a friendly, flexible “hands on” approach with the ability to problem solve and use your own initiative. Excellent customer services skills and the ability to relate confidently and appropriately with all users of the school is vital to the success of this role.

You will be expected to be flexible with times, especially during the school holidays and to cover when the Site Agent is not available.

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Support the maintenance of a clean school environment, carry out minor repairs and reinstatement of fabric and fittings where required, within the expertise of the post holder.
  • Be confident when using computers and a variety of computer-based systems.
  • Assist with the completion of site checks and documentation in accordance with procedures.
  • Assist in carrying out appropriate duties in relation to school buildings and the open environment regarding matters of security, safety, cleanliness and comfort, conducive to the working needs of the students, staff and visitors.
  • Contribute to all aspects of building and facilities repairs & maintenance (PPMs and reactive repairs)
  • Have some knowledge of Health and Safety, including COSHH
  • Together with the Site Agent, co-ordinate and manage contractor activities in accordance with school policies and procedures.
  • Respond to alarm call-outs and open or close for hirers who use our building outside of school hours.
  • Have an understanding of Safeguarding Children.
  • Support and model our school values at all times.
