About Laurus Ryecroft

About Us

The Laurus Trust is a highly successful and growing multi-academy trust in the North West of England. Laurus Ryecroft is a secondary free school which opened in September 2018 in Tameside for 150 year 7 students, growing year on year to full capacity of 1050 students and 300 sixth form students. The school replicates the outstanding provision offered by the Laurus Trust founding school Cheadle Hulme High School.

All our Laurus Schools are hugely oversubscribed and have a reputation, both locally and further afield, for outstanding teaching and learning through the relentless pursuit of excellence and the determination to ensure that every child succeeds. In the recent Staff Engagement Survey, over 95% of our employees stated that they would recommend working for Laurus Trust to their friends. In 2020/21 our average teacher turnover rate for secondary schools was 2.39%, which falls way below the National Average of 15%.
