Studley High School is a vibrant comprehensive and lead school in the Shires Teaching School Alliance. The school is high performing with excellent provision, set within a pleasant campus. We are seeking to appoint an Associate Assistant Headteacher - SENCO to join our Inclusion Team, with reduced teaching commitment to reflect this important role. The successful candidate will become an Associate Assistant Headteacher as a first step into Senior Leadership.
There are 2 potential pathways into this role:
• A current SENCO, who has previous experience of SEND with the National Award for Special Educational Needs Co-ordination
• A teacher who has a passion for SEND and would like to train to gain the SENCO qualification.
You should either have an excellent understanding of the SEN Code of Practice and recent Green Paper changes, or want to develop this knowledge; have both an excellent understanding of pupil progress and a willingness to embrace change; be open to new approaches to teaching and learning and have an excellent understanding and knowledge of a wide range of SEND needs, or want to develop this knowledge.
As the SENCO, you will help to shape the future vision of our school, promote excellence, equality and the highest expectations for our students and staff. This is a rare opportunity to work alongside a dedicated inclusion leadership team of school leaders and pupil welfare leads. You will continue to develop the excellent work already embedded within our school to ensure that all students benefit from an inclusive education.
You will be a creative thinker, emotionally intelligent, highly organised and above all, passionate about improving the quality of students education.
