What skills and experience we're looking for

We are recruiting for an Attendance Improvement Coordinator to join Plympton Academy to promote excellent attendance and punctuality and reduce absence levels.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to make a difference in the lives of our students and to work within a dynamic and supportive staff team. You will work with academy and Trust staff, the Attendance Advisory Service and parent/carers to improve and maintain attendance and punctuality.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Develop and maintain initiatives to motivate pupils to achieve outstanding school attendance.
  • Work accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring attendance registers are completed.
  • Produce and interpret information relating to attendance patterns.
  • Confident in liaising with parents/carers regarding attendance and punctuality matters.
  • Arranging and conducting meetings as appropriate.
  • The ability to undertake home visits as required - Driving Licence Required.
  • Flexible in providing administrative support and cover within the school office as deemed necessary.
  • Knowledge of attendance in schools, monitoring, recording and referral processes.
  • GCSE level English/Maths grade 4/C or equivalent qualification.
  • First aid trained desirable, although training will be provided.
