What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for someone with experience of working with autistic students to support us in the development of our provision for autistic students.
Main duties would include –
- Supporting autistic students to access a broad and balanced curriculum.
- Completing referrals for Autism to be assessed as supporting families through this process.
- Supporting the development of plans for autistic students so they can thrive in the classroom.
- Develop the use of AV1 robots and how they can support autistic students to access a wide curriculum.
- Development of interventions to support autistic students in learning about themselves and how they can best support their own learning.
- The use of social stories to be used within the department.
- To support all staff in developing the best provision possible for autistic students.
Training will also be given in how to help support students in examinations with reading, scribing, prompting or any other access arrangement that may be required. For parts of the academic year all Teaching Assistants need to support the examinations process.
