What the school offers its staff
The Board of Governors of Hope School are looking to recruit to a new behaviour outreach service. This is a tremendous opportunity for either a specialist or main stream teacher with a proven record in school for supporting children with behaviour that can be challenging.
The service its self will be new but it will be a strand of Hope School which has adopted strong attachment and trauma-informed practices (ATP) as the basis for working with its pupils, alongside links to the HEARTs project and research-based support. The school has built a formidable reputation and is recognised as being a Centre of Excellence both locally and nationally and the aim is for this team to follow on from this and continue to grow.
This is an exciting new opportunity for a passionate and resilient teacher, enthused to work collaboratively with the outreach team who has good communication and time management skills. It is also essential candidates have a comprehensive knowledge of barriers children have in accessing formal schooling and the ability to further build and develop the school's/ staff understanding and strategies in this area. Roles are fixed term in the first instance depending on outcomes and funding for future years. Hope School outreach is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Our school has an equal opportunities policy. For selection and recruitment in accordance with its safeguarding policy, the successful candidate will be required to have an enhanced DBS check along with a check against the DBS children's barred list. All posts are subject to statutory pre-employment checks and satisfactory references. This post is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (as amended in 2013 & 2020) and shortlisted candidates will be required to disclose any relevant criminal history prior to interview. Please see the document “Guidance for Completing an Application Form” for further information.
Commitment to safeguarding
Hope School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the pupils and expects all staff to share this commitment. Copies of our Safeguarding and Child Protection policies are available on the school website. Any appointment will be subject to appropriate references and enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance.
