Contract: 35 hours per week, term time only plus 5 inset days.
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and dedicated person to work as part of our Inclusion Hub Team. The successful candidate will work with small groups and one to one with students on short to medium term programmes to address barriers to learning. The Hub is an in-house alternative provision unit to provide educational and emotional support for a small group of students with the aim of re-engaging students who have missed their education due to a vulnerability factor.
Ormiston Maritime Academy (OMA) is an energetic and exciting environment to work in. We are looking for a passionate and driven individual who wants to bring new ideas and contribute to moving this provision forward at our academy.
The successful candidate will:
- have experience of working with young people
- be able to address the needs of our students by supporting them in overcoming their barriers to learning
- be able to demonstrate an awareness of emotional wellbeing and empathy for young people, to understand their needs and respond accordingly
- be rigorous in maintaining high standards of behaviour and attitude and model this
- be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and a high degree of emotional intelligence
- have the ability to use all Microsoft Office packages to a proficient standard
- have the ability to work well in a team and independently
