What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking a playworker to facilitate a breakfast club provision 5 mornings per week for around 20 pupils per day, within a team of two. The role will include setting up games and activities and engaging with children to ensure play is positive and enriching. During the club, breakfast is served by the school Kitchen, where the role requires effective supervision in a dining room setting, including the recording of breakfast items on a register. The role is for 7.5 hours per week, starting at 7:30am through until 9:00am
The role has traditionally been linked with a midday supervisor position which has been advertised separately. Please state within your application whether you would like to apply for both roles (total of 17.5 hours per week) or solely the playleader role (total of 7.5 hours per week).

Main responsibilities of the role are:
- To use and record registers to manage breakfast orders and attendance
- Supervision, organisation and safeguarding (including first aid) of children at breakfast club
- Set up, organise, manage and clear away resources and materials
- Organise and be active in developing interactive activities for the children during play and ensuring children are positively engaging in play.
- Encourage and facilitate positive social experiences for children.
- To encourage dining arrangements that promote an orderly and pleasant meal service for pupils.
- To assist as required to ensure a calm, clean environment in the dining hall
The successful candidate will be friendly, have good communication skills as well as the ability to adapt their approach to suit the needs, different personalities and interests of the children. We are looking for a team member who can:
