Business Manager job summary

Business Manager – PO6 Point 48 – starting from £63,348

Required for September 2025

37 hours per week (full-time), All year round

8.30am-4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am – 4.00pm Friday

We are looking to appoint a dynamic and committed Business Manager as a key member of our Senior Leadership Team to lead on all non-educational operations of our academy. You will provide strategic and operational leadership of the academy’s finances, human resources, IT, premises, catering, data protection and health & safety, in order for the academy to run both effectively and efficiently.

The role includes the responsibility of Chief Financial Officer so a strong financial background is essential. Experience in the education sector is preferable but not essential. You will be required to work closely with our Governing Body and ensure the academy remains fully compliant with the requirements of relevant external agencies.

The successful candidate will be:

  • An experienced business professional with a strong financial acumen and relevant qualifications for the role
  • Experienced in working with external auditors and internal scrutiny processes
  • Experienced in managing and developing teams
  • Committed to professional development and continual improvement
  • An inspiring role model to colleagues and students
  • Willing to support the daily operational duties of the academy alongside all leaders
