What skills and experience we're looking for

1. Qualifications / Experience / Training

GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above or equivalent.

Level 3 Certificate in Advice and Guidance / Level 4 Diploma in Careers Information and Advice.

Level 6 Diploma in Careers Guidance and Development or working towards this qualification.

Proven Experience Delivering careers advice and guidance within an educational setting.

2. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong organisational and administrative skills.

Competent in using IT systems and digital careers platforms.

Based at Thomas Rotherham College, you will play a key role in supporting our students’ future success. As a Careers Adviser, you will provide high quality, impartial advice and guidance, helping students make informed decisions about their education, training, and employment pathways. Your work will ensure they are well prepared for life beyond college.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated Careers team, with two positions available. We offer flexible contracts, with some examples of working patterns shown above, and ask applicants to outline their preferred work pattern within the application form.

The postholder will deliver 1:1 career advice and information sessions, take responsibility for a designated cohort of EHCP and flexible learning students, support students with employment and education applications, and coordinate careers events.
