Careers Coordinator job summary

As a Careers Coordinator, you will support the planning, organisation, and delivery of the school's careers education, information, advice, and guidance programme. You will work closely with students, parents, teaching staff, employers, and external agencies to ensure our careers provision is engaging, inclusive, and aligned with the Gatsby Benchmarks and statutory guidance.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting students as they make informed decisions about their education, training, and career pathways, while working collaboratively with staff, employers, colleges, universities, and external partners to deliver an outstanding careers programme.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating and promoting the school's careers programme across all year groups.
  • Organising careers events, employer encounters, workshops, college and university visits, and work-related learning opportunities.
  • Maintaining accurate records and supporting the school's careers strategy and quality assurance.
  • Building strong partnerships with employers, training providers, higher education institutions, and external organisations.
  • Supporting students with progression opportunities and helping them develop employability skills.
  • Monitoring destinations data and contributing to continuous improvement of careers provision.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Be passionate about supporting young people to achieve their aspirations.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, employers, and external partners.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong administrative and IT skills.
  • Experience in careers education, education, youth services, or a related field is desirable, although training and development will be provided for the right candidate.

Pinner High School opened in September 2016 with 150 Year 7 students. We will admit 180 Year 7 students each year; so having 900 Year 7 – Year 11 students. Our onsite sixth form is now open with a full complement of year groups. Alongside this, there are 12 additional places for students with Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Pinner High School is located on Beaulieu Drive, HA5 1NB.

Pinner High School is part of The Harrow Academies Trust, a multi-academy trust established by the seven secular high school academies within Harrow. Our high schools, together with Whitmore High School (which is a community school maintained by Harrow Council), have a strong track record of collaboration, including establishing Sixth Forms, the age-of-transfer that saw Year 7 join high school (instead of middle school), academy conversion in 2011, and establishing The Jubilee Academy (an alternative provision free school) in 2013.
