Careers Manager job summary

We are an oversubscribed and highly successful 11-19 academy in East Oxford. We are seeking an experienced careers lead to provide guidance, advice and support to students, parents/carers and teachers to help students investigate and implement their career decisions. To manage the school’s public relations, events and support the SLT with the school’s marketing strategy for careers.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work on their own initiative and should have experience working with young people or in a co-ordination role.

Support staff at Oxford Spires Academy are full members of the school team and give highly effective support. The successful candidate will be a valued member of the teaching and support teams and will make a contribution to the wider ethos, values and culture of the school.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and require all staff and volunteers to share and demonstrate this commitment. The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of the person specification and will be subject to the relevant pre-employment checks which will, where applicable, include a health check, an enhanced DBS check, the Children’s Barred List check and satisfactory references.
