Are you ready to embark on a rewarding journey within an educational community that values increasing opportunities, improving outcomes for our students. We are looking for a Caretaker to join our team. Reporting to the Facilities Manager you will undertake:

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Open, secure and monitor school buildings and grounds.

Act as a key holder and respond to emergency call-outs.

Carry out general maintenance, repairs and caretaking duties.

Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of external areas.

Undertake health and safety checks, testing and record keeping.

Support site security, alarm systems and contractor access.

Set up rooms and facilities for school events and lettings.

Monitor heating, lighting, water systems and energy usage.

Receive deliveries and carry out porterage duties.

Assist with the inspection and maintenance of school vehicles and swimming pool facilities.

Pay range: Grade 5 SCP 9-17

Qualifications and Skills:

Educated to a satisfactory standard with good written and verbal communication skills.

Full driving licence.

Experience undertaking a range of caretaking or site maintenance duties.

Ability to carry out minor repairs and maintenance work.

Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Good attention to detail and commitment to high standards.

Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including COSHH, desirable.

Basic ICT skills and confidence using Microsoft Office, desirable.

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
