We are looking to appoint a highly organised, motivated and flexible Caretaker to look after our school and everyone in it. Working closely with the Head Teacher, you would help to manage and be responsible for the maintenance, safety, security and cleanliness of the school premises. You will represent Blackwood when dealing with contractors and suppliers, ensuring that our site remains safe for all.

Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work on your own initiative are essential - as is a sense of pride in the work environment. A keen eye for detail and a good range of DIY skills is essential for this role. A working knowledge of COSHH and other statutory Health and Safety Regulations is a distinct advantage.

Hours of work would be 2:45pm - 6:30pm Tuesday and Thursday. 7.5 hours per week full year. School events during the school week will require later working for which additional hours are paid.

This is a rewarding and varied role that is an essential part of the support services provided to the school. The post-holder must provide an efficient and high quality service in all matters to ensure the school can provide the best quality teaching and learning to all pupils. We are part of the Central Co-operative Learning Trust and the central facilities team will be on hand to support your professional development as you get to know our school. If you have handy DIY skills and want to make our school a safe and vibrant environment for our children, please look for an application form, available on our website under vacancies. We also encourage you to visit our school to see everything it has to offer.

Blackwood School is an amazing place to work. We are committed to understanding every child as an individual and meeting their needs effectively so that they can realise their limitless possibilities. We can offer an incredible team, a warm and nurturing work environment and development opportunities to support your own professional growth.
