About the Role

We are seeking to appoint a friendly, reliable and conscientious Caretaker with to join our team at Hunstanton Primary School.

This is an important role within our school community. We are looking for someone who will take pride in caring for our school premises and helping to ensure that the site is safe, secure, clean, tidy and well maintained for our children, staff and visitors. In addition, the caretaker will be responsible, under the direction of the Headteacher and School Business Manager for the security of the school premises.

Working Hours

The role will be worked Monday to Friday, with hours split between a morning shift, to allow for unlocking and site preparation, and an afternoon shift.

The exact working pattern will be agreed with the successful candidate at interview, but hours will fall within the school’s opening hours of 7.00am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.

The role includes keyholder responsibilities and may involve responding to emergencies outside normal working hours and supporting occasional lettings, by agreement, in line with the needs of the school.
