Caretaker job summary

Corfe Hills School is looking for a Caretaker to join our busy premises team. In this role you will ensure the School’s buildings, site, premises, equipment and furnishings are safe, secure and maintained to standards defined by the school and legislation. As part of the premises team, priorities can change unexpectedly and you will need to be flexible in your approach, work well under pressure and be confident working with all stakeholders within the school, as well as external contractors when required. You will have responsibility as a main key holder unlocking and locking the school daily and carrying out daily checks. Part of this role will require you to carry out minor repairs and general maintenance so DIY or building industry experience is essential. There is a requirement to set up of assemblies and exams which involves lifting and moving furniture, you will also walk the site on numerous occasions during the day so will need to physically fit for this role. This is an excellent opportunity to develop current practical skills and gain experience of working in a busy and varied school environment.

Our Facilities

We are investing significantly in our facilities currently undertaking a £3.3 million classroom reconfiguration project which will be completed for September 2022. The school operates using Microsoft Office 365 and we make extensive use of Microsoft Teams. Teams is our platform for sharing resources, setting homework and collaborating will colleagues. Students and staff also have remote access to the school’s network.
