Fairhaven Primary School are looking for a new caretaker to join our team.
We are looking for a flexible, enthusiastic and energetic person who takes pride in their work. You must be a team player who is also happy to be a lone worker.
The main duties will include:
- Being responsible for keeping the school site looking tidy to a high standard
- To be available to unlock the school daily (Mon-Fri)
- To be available to unlock/lock the premises for pre-planned visits by contractors during school holidays
- The secure and safe operation of the school site
- Regular health & safety checks of the premises and grounds
- Carrying out a variety of DIY tasks and general repairs (some of these duties will need to be carried out during school holidays)
- To undertake regular training in relation to legionella, fire safety, asbestos and safe use of chemicals
- To attend to alarm call outs if necessary (paid as extra)
Hours:
- Twelve hours per week for 42 weeks of the year (term time plus four weeks)
- Typically, hours will be 7am – 9am, Monday to Friday, with two hours on a Saturday

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent English is an essential requirement for this role.
