Part time (Can be done as a job share): This is a part-time post starting in June 2026. The role is term time + 4 weeks (42 weeks per year). 25 hours a week – hours of work to be negotiated and may involve a split shift.

What skills and experience we're looking for

Skills Required:

Broad knowledge of DIY processes to carry out basic repairs Painting and basic carpentry Ability to read and record written information for a range of purposes Ability to use basic maths to calculate orders correctly Knowledge of security and health & safety policies and procedures

Duties:

  • Be a keyholder
  • Ensure school site/perimeter is well maintained, safe and secure
  • Regular site walks to monitor condition of premises
  • Undertake routine building and site maintenance work as needed
  • Ensure all plant equipment is maintained to the required standard
  • Ensure litter collection is regularly completed within the school grounds
  • Porterage and transportation of equipment, furniture and deliveries
  • Completing a wide range of vital Health & Safety checks within the school
  • Record checks on the school’s health and safety online management system
  • Undertake regular training relevant to this role
  • Maintenance of the school grounds where necessary
  • Monitor the standards of cleaning and grounds maintenance staff
  • Contribute to cleaning of the school during periods of staff absence and to “deep cleans” during holiday periods
