Caretaker job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Dartmoor Multi Academy Trust at Okehampton College.
The successful candidate will work within our busy premises team, ensuring the College is kept to a high standard to support pupil learning.
The Role
Caretaking and maintenance of the College site to the required standard, to include compliance checks, emergency repairs, low level grounds maintenance and porterage of equipment.
Security of the College site and contents, including call out in emergencies and locking and unlocking routines.
Monitoring of cctv cameras to assist with site security and, where necessary, capturing of information as evidence to support investigations.
Performance of caretaking and maintenance tasks as directed by the Executive Principal and/or his representative to include participation in parent and community events under the direction of the Premises Manager.
To act as first point of contact for external hirers, deliveries and/or contractors, outside of school hours.
In line with the grading of this post, it is expected that this will be a proactive role with regard to maintenance etc and that professional development / training will take place to ensure competence in related areas to allow a reasonable level of autonomy within appropriate limitations.

Participation in shifts as required to include cover for lettings (at weekends) and to cover staff absence as directed by the Premises Manager.
