Hayesdown is a first school for children aged 4–9 years, which serves a mixed residential area on the outskirts of the town of Frome. We have spacious grounds that include: a large playground; a garden with seating; an adventure play area; a large sports field and a conservation area. Classes are housed in a refurbished, single storey building with ten classrooms. The school also has a library, hall, serving kitchen and an ICT suite.

Staff and governors aim to provide a caring and happy atmosphere in which children can access an exciting and engaging curriculum that will prepare them for life in the 21st century. We not only aim to develop motivated learners, but also children who are confident and feel good about themselves. We work with parents and carers to achieve these aims. Teaching staff work incredibly hard, know the pupils in their classes well, and have very good relationships with them. We also have a dedicated team of support staff who enhance the school’s provision.

Hayesdown was recognised as a ‘good’ school by Ofsted in December 2018. There is a strong team spirit amongst staff and governors, who are keen to move the school ever closer to an ‘outstanding’ education organisation. In September 2013, the school joined The Partnership Trust, a multi-academy trust that serves schools in the surrounding area.

We have an experienced leadership team who support high quality professional development. We are looking for applicants with commitment and passion to educating the whole child and maintaining very high standards.
