What skills and experience we're looking for
The role: Barr Beacon School has a busy kitchen which caters for pupils, staff and visitors as well as other functions and events. Our Catering Assistants assist the Head Chef in the smooth running of the school’s kitchen, meal production and hygiene within the kitchen and bistro area through completion of delegated tasks. The successful candidate will need to adhere to Matrix Academy Trust policies & procedures in regards to temperature checks, food labelling and dating, cleaning schedules and hygiene regulations.
About you:
The role is demanding and busy and will require the following key skills and experience:
- Having experience of basic food preparation skills and serving food within a large catering operation;
- Previous experience working with the catering/education industry;
- Able to complete all physical requirements of the role e.g. standing for long periods of time;
- Able to work well within a team and undertake delegated tasks from the Head Chef.
