What skills and experience we're looking for

The Governors are looking to appoint a friendly and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to run the brand new hot meal service which is provided externally to the school. Duties involve the overall management of the external food delivery service, ensuring food health and safety requirements are met, provide a calm friendly food service to the children having hot meals, paying particular attention to meals for children with dietary requirements. This also includes ensuring the service area is ready on time for service and cleaned with equipment washed and tided away at the end of the service.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a good knowledge of food safety and hygiene practice or a willingness to learn
  • Be well motivated to ensure a high quality service for our children
  • Be fully committed to our school ethos
  • Have good communication skills
  • Reasonable level of fitness and health to manage the deep cleaning aspects of this role
  • Have the ability to work in a busy environment and as part of a friendly, supportive team.
