What we need!
Applications are invited for the position of Catering Assistant to join our friendly in-house Catering Team, starting in September 2026
Hours will be: 8 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. Monday to Friday.
30 hours a week during Term time, plus pre-confirmed inset days.
Duties include assisting in meal preparation, laying tables, clearing, and cleaning up, whilst maintaining high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness in accordance with HSS domestic and catering standards.
Previous school experience, knowledge of H&S good practice in the kitchen and Food Hygiene Certificate (Basic) would be an advantage, but training will be provided.
We were judged as ‘good’ by Ofsted in all areas during inspection in November 2022 and 'outstanding' for Behaviour. We became an academy school in Nov 2016 and are the lead school in a 2-school multi academy trust. We also provide outreach support for primary schools within Stevenage, focusing on behaviour management support strategies. We have a range of well-being initiatives and numerous opportunities for growth and development. This includes:

All appointments are subject to the satisfactory completion of the necessary pre-employment checks, including two references, enhanced DBS certificate and occupational health checks as part of our safeguarding and induction procedures.

Class sizes are small, usually no more than 10 pupils. We are superbly resourced. All teaching groups have a teacher and teaching assistant to work with pupils.
Our constant challenge is to review and alter our practice to ensure the very best outcomes for our pupils. We have a wide range of initiatives in place from bespoke intervention support, counselling, animal assisted therapy to an interactive thematic curriculum which engages and inspires our pupils.
