Contract: 32.5 hours per week, term time only

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Catering Manager at Fountains High School part of Esteem MAT.

Have you worked in the catering industry and would like a great work life balance? Here at Fountains High School we can offer you 13 weeks holiday as our catering operation is term time only.

We don't do evenings, weekends or bank holidays ... except the very occasional school fair.

We operate our own catering service in-house. The successful candidate will be responsible for a catering team preparing, cooking and serving food within a busy school kitchen, helping us to maintain our excellent standards of food quality, service and hygiene. We are a friendly team in a supportive and successful school.

About the Role

Responsible for the operational efficiency of the catering service, planning, preparation, and presentation of food to the required standard within the budget limitations as agreed with the school management. Maintenance of the highest standards of personnel management, hygiene and health and safety.

The Fountains High School is a 11 to 19 special school within the Esteem Multi Academy Trust situated in Stretton, Burton Upon Trent. The school is presently oversubscribed with 222 pupils on roll including 36 Post 16 students based at Burton and South Derbyshire College (BSDC) campus.

The South Derbyshire Support Centre situated in Newhall – Swadlincote and caters for 26 pupils aged 7-16 with a variety of educational needs with a large number of the pupils having been permanently excluded or at risk of permanent exclusion from local mainstream academies. Both schools share a senior leadership team and local governing body.

At Fountains we pride ourselves on creating rich and exciting learning experiences for all children. All learning in school is highly differentiated and is rooted within four different curriculums' which is underpinned by our school values which are centred on Personal Learning and Thinking Skills which develop each child's character, providing the foundations that we try and live by every day.
