What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Child Specific Learning Support Assistant to join our talented KS2 SEND team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to children's lives by supporting their learning, wellbeing and personal development within our inclusive school community.
The successful candidate will work as part of our inclusion team alongside class teachers and other professionals to support pupils' learning and development. We are looking for someone who:
- Is passionate about helping children learn, grow and succeed.
- Has a nurturing and positive approach to supporting children.
- Can build strong, supportive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
- Is committed to inclusion and enabling all children to access learning.
- Works well as part of a collaborative and dedicated team.
- Demonstrates initiative, flexibility and a willingness to learn.
Candidates will have an NVQ Level 3 in supporting Teaching and Learning or the equivalent, while a good level of numeracy and literacy is essential (GCSE Grade C /4 and above or equivalent). Previous experience of working with children, particularly those with additional needs, would be advantageous. Enthusiasm, commitment and the ability to form positive relationships are equally important.
The role will be a temporary child specific role for 30 hours 50 minutes per week, Monday to Friday, exclusive of INSET days, from 08:30 to 15.10 with an unpaid 30-minute lunch break. The position will be paid on Band C point 8 - 14 currently £26,824 – £29,540 (pay award pending) pro rata dependant on qualifications and experience.
