What skills and experience we're looking for
St. Patrick’s RC Primary School are currently seeking a Children’s Welfare Officer. St. Patrick’s are looking for a Children’s Welfare Officer to work as part of the Pastoral Support team at the school. As one of the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leaders you would be responsible to and work in conjunction with the Safeguarding Lead in facilitating and developing safeguarding and child protection policies, training, procedures and guidance. In your role as a Children’s Welfare Officer, you will oversee Whole School Attendance, code registers and analyse data on a day-to-day basis tracking absences.
You will liaise with external agencies as required and have a good understanding of how they function e.g. Education Welfare, Children’s Services and signpost accordingly and attend strategy meetings as required. You will complete emotion-based non-attendance work with identified children and families. You will complete welfare/home visits etc as required, ensuring that all actions are followed up in line with Safeguarding requirements. You will work closely with the School’s Senior Leadership Team to ensure that pupil’s needs are identified and met.
