Class Teacher job summary
Class Teacher
All Saints Catholic Voluntary Academy is situated in Old Glossop behind Manor Park and at the foot of the Pennines. It is a small school with a big heart and strong Catholic ethos. As we are small the children all know each other and the older children support and encourage the younger pupils. The children at All Saints are proud of their school and they show this through their behaviour, work ethos and kindness. We have close links with St Margaret’s Catholic Voluntary Academy in Glossop. Both schools share the same Headteacher, Governing Body and Website. Both schools share a minibus which enables us to attend many sporting events and in the near future will be used to offer ‘wrap around care’ for both schools. It is our aim that each and every child who joins All Saints finds enjoyment, happiness, friendship and fulfilment throughout their days with us. We will strive to uncover the talents, interests and God-given gifts of each child; get to know them and understand them as individuals and build a curriculum around them that is rich and engaging.
You will be responsible for:
- Teaching a class, including planning, recording, assessing and meeting the social and learning needs of pupils
- Maintaining the positive Catholic ethos and core values of the school
- Fulfilling the professional responsibilities of a teacher and meeting the expectations set out in the Teachers’ Standards
What are we looking for?
If you are an enthusiastic and knowledgeable teacher who is committed to getting the best outcomes for pupils then we want to hear from you. The successful candidate will be able to build effective working relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues and will adapt their teaching to meet the needs of all pupils.
The St Ralph Sherwin Catholic Multi-Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to satisfactory references, which will be requested, prior to interview, an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, medical check, evidence of qualifications plus verification of the right to work in the UK.
Please note that the closing date may be brought forward depending upon interest.
