Class Teacher - Enhanced Learning Provision job summary
Key Responsibilities
As the Lead Teacher for the ELP (Enhanced Learning Provision), you will be the driving force behind our specialised setting, ensuring that our learners with complex Special Educational Needs receive an outstanding, tailored education under the leadership of the school Assistant Headteacher/SENDCO.
Provision Leadership: Help design and deliver a highly scaffolded curriculum that meets the specific sensory, cognitive, and emotional needs of pupils.
SEND Interventions: implementing, and monitoring the impact of evidence-based interventions (e.g. Speech & Language, OT programs, sensory circuits).
EHCP Plans: Contributing to Education, Health, and Care Plans, and attending Annual Reviews.
External Collaboration: Serving as a link with external agencies for the ELP, including Educational Psychologists, Communication Autism Team, Speech & Language Therapist and specialist outreach services.
Team Management: Deploying a dedicated team of Teaching Assistants, providing coaching and ensuring high standards of support.
Strategic Liaison: Working in close partnership with the Assistant Headteacher/ SENDCo to align the ELP with the wider school's SEND strategy.
We are looking for a highly effective teacher with a proven track record of success in SEND settings.
Essential Experience & Skills:
Extensive SEND Experience: A deep understanding of primary-aged children with complex needs (including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH).
Intervention Expertise: Robust knowledge of how to adapt the National Curriculum through specialist interventions.
Communication: The ability to communicate with sensitivity and authority when liaising with parents, staff, and external professionals.
Qualifications:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
