What skills and experience we're looking for

Teach allocated pupils by planning their teaching to achieve progression of learning through:

  • Establish positive and kind relationships with the children and staff.
  • Operate at all times within the stated policies and practices of the school.
  • Monitor and intervene to ensure excellent discipline in line with the behaviour policy.
  • Establish effective working relationships and set a good example through their presentation and personal and professional conduct.
  • Liaise effectively with parents.
  • Manage other adults in the classroom to promote pupil progress.
  • Identifying clear teaching objectives and specifying how they will be taught and assessed.
  • Setting clear targets, building on prior attainment.
  • Identifying SEN or very able pupils and adapt QFT planning and delivery
  • Ensure effective teaching and best use of available time.
  • Evaluate their own teaching critically to improve effectiveness.
  • Encourage children to talk about their learning and develop high standards in oracy.
  • Prepare and present informative reports to parents.
  • Take responsibility for their own professional development and duties in relation to school policies and practices.

We are hoping to recruit a full time and permanent EYFS or KS1 teacher from September 2025. St Luke’s is a large and thriving Church of England Primary School in Beeston, South Leeds.
