Stobhillgate First School is situated in the beautiful, historic market town of Morpeth. We are a small school with a big heart and are passionate about creating innovative learning experiences for all. The schools defining principles of Excellence, Inspiration, Collaboration and Empathy are at the heart of everything we do. At Stobhillgate First School, we are passionate about developing the whole child and nurturing a love for learning. The children that attend our school come from a wide range of
economically diverse backgrounds. Our challenge is to ensure we provide equality of opportunity for all children.

Since our Ofsted inspection, in 2019, the school has been on a rapid journey of improvement, this has included:

• The development of an exciting new curriculum that inspires and motivates our children. Including: Talk 4 Writing; Read Write Inc; reciprocal reading; maths mastery and the introduction of a new exciting
broader curriculum.

• The improvement of the school building and grounds included renovating all classrooms; opening a new state-of-the-art EYFS unit; a new school library; and, recently, an exciting new Performing Arts Centre and Community Hub.

• The enhancement of our broader offer, providing our children with the opportunity to experience a wide range of exciting opportunities such as camping on Hadrian’s Wall, performing in a Shakespeare play and
participating in a professional opera!
