What skills and experience we're looking for
A teaching degree or equivalent qualification.
Qualified teacher status (QTS).
A thorough up-to-date knowledge of the range of teaching, learning and behaviour management strategies and how to implement them effectively.
A thorough understanding of the National Curriculum and Age-Related Expectations.
Know how to use local, national and statistics to evaluate the effectiveness of teaching.
Knowledge and understanding of the implications of equal opportunities, multicultural education and inclusion.
Knowledge and understanding of the potential of computer technology to enhance the curriculum.
Know the legal requirements, national policy and guidance on the safeguarding of children.
The ability to work collaboratively with pupils, staff, parents and governors.
The ability to use target setting and assessment effectively.
Good communication skills to establish positive relationships with children, staff and parents.
Understanding of Health and Safety requirements in the classroom.
Awareness of the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Code of Practice (2014).
Ability to prepare and plan effectively.
Good organisational skills.
Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Energy, drive and a commitment to the profession.
Ability to reflect, self-evaluate and modify practice accordingly.
Willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school.
High expectations of achievement and behaviour.
Innovative, exciting and creative approach to the curriculum.
Suitability to work with children.
