Class Teacher job summary

Teacher - Make a Difference Every Day

Are you an inspirational, creative and nurturing teacher who believes every child can achieve?

We are looking for a passionate and committed Teacher to join our team and make a real difference to the lives and learning of our pupils.

This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who understands that great teaching starts with great relationships. You will play a key role in creating a safe, stimulating and inclusive classroom where pupils feel secure, valued and ready to learn.

What will you be doing?

As a class teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging and creative lessons that inspire curiosity and encourage pupils to achieve their potential.

  • Set high expectations and aspirational targets, while adapting learning to meet individual needs.

  • Use a range of teaching approaches to engage pupils through whole-class, small-group and 1:1 learning.

  • Develop trusting relationships with pupils, helping them to feel safe, understood and ready to learn.

  • Support pupils with SEND, including their emotional regulation, communication and individual learning needs.

  • Use assessment effectively to understand pupils' starting points, track progress and ensure learning continually moves forward.

  • Monitor, record and celebrate pupil progress, including progress towards EHCP outcomes.

  • Create a calm, supportive and stimulating learning environment where every pupil has the opportunity to succeed.

  • Work closely with teaching assistants, providing clear direction and making the most of the strengths of the whole class team.

  • Work positively with parents, carers, colleagues and external agencies to achieve the best possible outcomes for pupils.

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through curriculum leadership, enrichment and extra-curricular opportunities. What are we looking for?

We are looking for a teacher who:

  • Has a strong understanding of SEND and trauma-informed, attachment-aware practice.

  • Has a secure knowledge of the National Curriculum, RE and RHSE.

  • Has a good understanding of curriculum progression, particularly in the core subjects.

  • Is committed to research-led and evidence-based teaching and continual professional development.

  • Can adapt teaching creatively to meet the needs of individual pupils.

  • Understands that relationships, emotional regulation and readiness to learn are fundamental to pupil success.

  • Is reflective, enthusiastic and keen to develop their practice.

  • Works collaboratively and builds positive relationships with colleagues, families and professionals.

  • Is committed to safeguarding, pupil wellbeing and creating an environment where children feel safe, supported and successful.

Why join us?

This is much more than a classroom teaching role. You will have the opportunity to shape learning, inspire pupils, lead curriculum development and contribute to the wider life of our school.

You will become an important part of a team that is committed to understanding each pupil as an individual and helping them overcome barriers to learning.

If you are a teacher who wants to make a genuine difference, build meaningful relationships and help every pupil reach their potential, we would love to hear from you.
