Knowledge and understanding of primary subjects and curriculum areas.

Awareness of current legislation, policies and guidance on safeguarding of learners and promotion of their wellbeing.

Up to date working knowledge and understanding of teaching and learning and behaviour management strategies.

Walkergate Community School are seeking to appoint a highly skilled teacher to join their school from September 2025. You'll be responsible for the educational progress of learners within a particular class, whilst delivering enthusiastic and creative teaching that inspires our pupils.

Our school is one of eight primary and secondary schools within the NEAT Academy Trust family of schools. At the heart of our trust is the aim to nurture, educate, achieve and transform the lives of all young people within the communities we serve across the North East. We have a national research school, which aims to build and strengthen networks of schools throughout the region and help them access effective education research and implement it in everyday practice.

Our school is a large primary school based across 2 sites in the east end of Newcastle. We currently have 660 pupils aged from 2 to 11 and in 2020 Ofsted rated the school as ‘Good’. Our school motto is ‘Together we make a difference’ and staff are dedicated to working with children, parents and families to ensure that all Walkergate children achieve their very best in everything they do in a safe, happy and nurturing environment.
