What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking to appoint an innovative, creative and enthusiastic teacher to join the Yew Tree family. We are a friendly three-form entry primary school with a nursery class. We are looking for a committed teacher, capable of providing high quality teaching, to join a supportive team of staff who passionately believe in providing the best education for our children.

We are looking for experienced teacher (MPS or UPS) in order to complement and grow our teaching team. This post would provide extra teaching capacity within our team so may include some teaching commitments across the school (rather than in one class) but this would be discussed at interview with shortlisted candidates.

The school has continued to demonstrate rapid improvement since its ‘good’ Ofsted in October 2021 and we want to ensure we build a team who will support us in our drive to be the best school around. Unfortunately, on this occasion, we are not looking for an Early Career Teacher (ECT). We are interested in hearing from individuals with a range of talents, experiences and skills which will offer something unique to our school community. Teaching at Yew Tree is more than a job; It is being a part of our family – our community!

We want to meet candidates who think they have something to offer Yew Tree and who can support us in securing our drive for the highest possible standards at the school. We believe children get one chance at education so we want somebody who is relentless in their desire to provide the best for the children in our care.

We are looking for somebody who is:

  • Passionate about education.
  • Confident and up-to-date with curriculum & assessment strategies.
  • Able to create an exciting learning environment for our pupils.
  • Capable of delivering an outstanding quality of teaching.
  • Committed to developing every child
  • Able to meet the differing needs of children in their class.
  • Committed to working closely with the school community.
  • Willing to work as part of a team.
  • Able to foster and develop a caring ethos.

What the school offers its staff

We can offer the successful candidate:

  • A supportive environment in which relationships are nurtured.
  • A dedicated, friendly and passionate staff.
  • A commitment to continued professional development.
  • An award-winning commitment to well-being so that every member of staff feels supported.
  • A commitment to high standards and continual improvement.
  • Enthusiastic and caring pupils who work hard.
  • Modern facilities and extensive grounds to inspire learning
  • Flexible working arrangements

Commitment to safeguarding

Yew Tree Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects its entire staff to share this commitment.

All post-holders will be required to have an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), including a Children’s Barred List check for post carrying out a regulated activity. Any posts are subject to approval of two references and subject to any necessary safeguarding checks (including searches of candidate’s online activity).
