Cleaner job summary

We are looking to appoint a hardworking and reliable Cleaner to join our site team at Birley Primary Academy, part of L.E.A.D. Academy Trust for 10 hours a week during term time and upto 30 hours during the holidays. This role will be for 2 hours each day. Anticipated hours will be EITHER 6am-8am or 3pm-5pm, however these can be discussed at Interview. This role is essential in ensuring that our pupils and staff work in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.


Main duties include:

  • Cleaning classrooms, corridors, offices, and communal areas to a high standard
  • Emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately
  • Maintaining hygiene in toilets and washroom facilities
  • Reporting any maintenance or health and safety concerns to the site manager
  • Following all safeguarding, health & safety, and infection control procedures

    Birley Primary Academy joined L.E.A.D Academy Trust in February 2017 together with four other schools in the Birley family. This is an exciting time to join our Academy and contribute to a successful learning environment for our children.

    We are a large primary school in south east Sheffield, admitting children from 3 to 11 years with Foundation Stage 1 (nursery) provision for 104 children. Our admissions number is 90 children across all other year groups. The school was last inspected by Ofsted in 2019 and was judged to be good.
