Cleaner Vacancy at Parklands High School
Location: Parklands High School, Southport Road, Chorley, Lancashire
Hours: 13 hours per week, Monday - Thursday 15.15-18.00 and Friday 15.15-17.15, term time only plus 3 weeks
Grade: NJC Grade 3 Scale Point 4
Salary: £7,948.05-£8,072.74 per year (pro rata)
We are looking for a reliable, dedicated Cleaner to help us keep Parklands High School in excellent condition. Working under the direction of our Cleaning Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring our school remains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students and staff alike.
What you will do:
- Clean classrooms, corridors, toilets, and communal areas
- Use cleaning equipment (such as floor buffers - full training will be provided)
- Replenish paper towels, toilet rolls, and other supplies
- Report any maintenance or safety issues to the team
- Assist with additional cleaning for special events, such as open evenings
- Follow all health and safety and safeguarding procedures
What we are looking for:

- The ability to work well as part of a team
- A commitment to keeping our school clean, safe, and welcoming
- An understanding of the importance of safeguarding children
- Willingness to work extra hours occasionally (such as for parents’ evenings)
Previous cleaning experience is useful but not essential. Full training and support will be provided.
