Clerical Assistant job summary

The School:

St Philip’s is a successful Catholic primary school, with ‘Good’ judgements from our last Ofsted inspection. It is a welcoming, happy and dynamic school, where relationships between adults and children are positively fostered and valued. Serving the parishes of Arundel and Storrington, it is in a delightful setting close to the Cathedral and Castle.

The Role:

We are looking for an organised individual to be part of our well-established and very effective Office Team. The role involves managing the diary, admissions and general office duties all of which includes liaising with staff, pupils, parents and visitors; administering first aid; maintaining manual and computerised records: producing reports using the school management information system. The position requires prioritising a demanding and varied workload in a very busy office environment.

Hours: 20 hours per week, 8.00am - 12 midday, term time only

Salary: Grade 3, point 3-4 (£12.85-£13.05 per hour)

The Person:

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • IT skills (knowledge of word, excel, publisher, powerpoint, email)
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Self-motivation and a proactive approach
  • Discretion and confidentiality
  • Ability to form good working professional relationships

Experience:

Office experience is essential together with a friendly, positive and professional approach.
