What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for someone who:
- Has strong administrative experience and excellent written English
- Is confident and capable in the use of AI tools for drafting, summarising, note‑taking and minute production (essential)
- Has high digital literacy, including Microsoft Office and online systems
- Is well organised, reliable and able to meet deadlines independently
- Understands confidentiality, GDPR and safeguarding principles
- Can attend meetings that generally take place from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, with flexibility when required and with notice given
Experience in clerking or school governance is helpful but not essential if strong transferable skills are demonstrated.

Further information about the job
The Clerk will:
- Plan, prepare and administer Local Committee meetings in line with Trust expectations
- Attend and minute meetings, which are usually held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm; if meeting times vary, notice will always be provided
- Produce clear, impartial and accurate minutes reflecting discussion, challenge and decisions
- Provide procedural and governance advice to the Chair and committee
- Maintain accurate governance records, update GovernorHub and support compliance with statutory requirements
- Use AI tools to support drafting, summarising and efficient document production
